The beginning of my styling career.....

The reason why I wanted to move to Melbourne is that this place was where the fashion was booming and I knew that my career as a stylist here in Melbourne could be achievable. Not that I don't love doing law, personal injury law was what paid the bills and being a stylist is my life long dream.

On one Saturday I decided to go and do a photo shoot in Chapel Street. There I met an amazing young man who was the makeup artist there. I had to bring outfits with me to be photographed in.

He was also a stylist there helping the clients with their looks. He was impressed with my own personal style and I told him of my passion for becoming a stylist. He told me that he owned a modeling agency and would like to let me have free range on one of his shots. I was completely over the moon with this and was so happy to be given the opportunity to be able to style for his agency. From that time onwards we formed a fantastic friendship.

The first shoot was awesome it was one of his models Cassie who rocked every look I put on her.

MELBOURNE Starting Out

I didn't realize the complete lifestyle change here in Melbourne. Everything was hip and happening and something going on every single day of the week and this is where I noticed that I started to get FOMO (fear of missing out).

I was making friends and work was great. I was shocked that such a massive law firm in Melbourne City was by far the most amazing understanding law firm and friendly law firm that I had ever worked for.

In our neck of the neighbourhood there was rad things happening all the time and across the road from our place were some cool kids that I thought would be awesome to make friends with.  Being the type of person that I am, I thought why not make friends with them so I decided to slip a note under their warehouse door to see if they all wanted to hang. Because we were living in a fortress and the intercom did not work this was really the only way to communicate with them.

They became our new Melbourne friends and there were some crazy times!!

I was starting to form different groups of friends some that I could party hard with and some that I could just chill with however nothing would ever compare to the besties I had back on QLD.

NEW CITY NEW LIFE

It's been nine months since I packed up my life on the Gold Coast Queensland leaving behind my family, dog and friends.

Living in Melbourne City in the trendy suburb of Fitzroy so much has happened in the last nine months.

It all happened so fast I was over the bullshit of the Goldie and wanted to pursue a career as a stylist in this amazing city.

I came down for a weekend to visit a friend here then decided then and there that I was to move to Melbourne. I knew that this was the place I needed to be.

As soon as I got back from my visit to Melbourne I put the wheels in motion frantically looking for a job in my other bread and butter career as a paralegal in the workplace injury industry. To my astonishment I landed a job in Melbourne within a week for a massive long standing  highly reputable law firm smack bang in the heart of the city.

After that, I moved here within two weeks  leaving everything behind. Lucky I had a house ready for me to move into with some of my amazing friends from Queensland.
